The Hoem Blog

2025-12-14:

Hello there!

Long time no see! Been doing a lot of stuff lately (visiting old churches and museums, writing about the Despotate of the Morea, reading about the Eastern Roman Empire, drafting up books and eating a lot of dates). Anyways, I'm back. I realize the wiki is really bad and underdeveloped at the moment, so I will be spending some time fixing that up.

I might post some of my writings here on the blog (they are pretty bad, but hopefully they will get better over time...hopefully)

Completely unrelated, but something absolutely incredible happened yesterday. I was visiting the Vatican museum (awesome place by the way), and I really wanted to see a fresco called St. Catherine's Disputation, but it was closed. However, the guard let us through, saying something along the lines of "ok, just 1 minute", and we actually got to go inside! It was really beautiful in there, and I finally got to meet Andreas Palaiologos and Cem Sultan in person! (paintings of them ofc). It was such a surreal experience, getting to go inside and see the fresco completely by myself (nobody else was there besides the guard and my dad). I took some pictures, both of St. Catherine's Disputation and of other really cool things in the museum (like the sarcophagi of Helena and Constantina, cuneiform tablets and depictions of Ashurnasirpal, Constantine, Plato and Aristotle), and I will make sure to post some of them on the pics section.

I guess I have much work to do, so for now, toodles! - his beloved imperial majesty, Fleming the Lemming
